Joan Watson-Jones

[SinglePic not found]Taking inspiration from Shirley Horn, Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles, Joan Watson-Jones offers a distinctive singing style. She tells personal life stories through the music of the Great American Songbook. She also includes some of her own compositions.

In January 2007 Joan announced the release of her CD “I Thought About You”. Jazz Writer and Critic Scott Yannow says: “She gives each(song) one her own fresh interpretation filled with sincere emotions and understanding.”

Joan’s credits include a previous CD “One More Year,” her cable TV show “The Jazz Room Live” seen on stations in New York City and throughout New England. Joan is also host of “The Jazz Room,” an Internet Radio Program on www.cyberstationusa.com Wednesdays at 10:30PM. Shows are archived on the station’s website for On Demand listening.

_______
Worship with a Twist services are scheduled roughly once a month at 7:00pm.  They feature different forms of music and emphasize exploring one’s spiritual path. The services are fun, lively and engaging.  John Read organizes the music for the services.  Two recent services were a Jazz service with a theme of water and a meditative service with a theme of breadwith classical and Native American flute, joined with John on the piano.
